LOVE LETTER TO MURANO
We met on a tour. What fabulous kismet! Of all the things I expected that day, meeting you was not one of them. It was destined to be. A splendid surprise. You are so art filled, generous, tall and beautiful. I could not get enough of you. Still can’t. You genuinely are a work of art.
In the beginning we didn’t know where it was going to go. There certainly were feelings of grandeur. Enticing! What could this become? Can it develop into something wonderful? Something future thinking & repeatable? Of course, it can and it did. Off we went – Go Big or Go Home.
It took off slowly. Renovations began. The pours started. There were shenanigans of course. (Of course!) Leaks in the studio, elevator issues, material searches & discoveries, life in the fast lane kinda thing. A long time coming, nearly 10 months in just the preparation at this point. The obstacles overcome, the pace picked up and eventually, voila! The show is ready!
The team was all in. We began filling the space, arranging then rearranging, feeling so many feelings. It was overwhelming love for sure. As I stood there I could not believe this was actually happening. The space was perfect, it was stunning. It was so magical. Work completed-thank you team! The party starts.
We celebrated like mad! The opening, wine and food flowed. The artist talk, great questions, inquiries and intimate discussions. Community meetings brought more new love. Don’t forget the coffee chats! And of course there was more marketing love than I could handle. Studio shoot felt like paparazzi, the blushing artist for sure and the posts were so glamorous! What about that drone flying around? Who knew so much celebrating could happen? I so loved it.
And now it’s almost over-how can that be? A year in this magnificent space is such a gift. You are such a gift. I am so grateful. As in, overflowing on the gratitude chart. But I don’t want to leave yet. A few more weeks please! What a special place in my heart this show holds. Never had this many, this big, before, in one place, ever. Thank you, Murano. Truly a love story I shall not forget.
