KABOOM

KABOOM

What other word could you possibly use to describe Cobalt Blue??? Damn it’s a great color! Especially against gold & bronze. Layering up this painting with big pours is like herding cats but it’s getting there. And very much worth the blood, sweat, & tears!

CRUNCHY GOLD

Materials are my thing as you may already know-I love to explore new materials. Using crushed gold glass in this painting. It creates the most wonderful crunchy gold mixed with glitter and acrylic. Check out the top of the photo. That is the glass. A detailed shot really zoomed in. This area is only a 4 inch area of a 48 x 60 painting. The wet paint will dry a beautiful warm gold.

MIXING AREA

I feel a spring cleaning coming on. Sometimes I absolutely have to stop and clean up otherwise I spill and knock things over. Which is happening. This mixing area gets heavy usage! This is the only place I use a brush. To stir and mix color. I don’t mind a little spring cleaning-reminds me that things are happening. Work is progressing. And of course I like the idea of spring. Hope you are enjoying a peek of spring to come! It’s right around the corner…
