DEEP PURPLE
Working on some small pieces in preparation for the Tacoma Studio tours in Oct. (Hope you’re coming-Oct 17th & 18th!) This one is coming along….love deep purple so much! The color and the band. THE DETAILS MATTER
I regularly share these detail shots because I want you to see what I see. How different materials react together-its a curious thing. This particular detailed shot has alcohol ink over the top of acrylic paint. But that wasn’t the order it was poured. I poured the ink first, then, for some reason-probably science-the paint went underneath, not on top. The ink (bright white) sits on top of the paint (dark pewter and a second white) making fabulous transparency & texture. What will it look like when it dries??!!!
WHO YOU KNOW
A studio neighbor has a shopping cart, to haul things and save trips. I was lucky enough to borrow said shopping cart when I was delivering another show to Seattle. Yes, 2 shows going on right now, one downtown and the other in Pioneer Square. WOOHOO! This photo was taken while I was loading up for The Dandy of King Street Crossing/Pioneer Square.
