FRESH AND GOOD IN THE HOOD

As always, I am on the lookout for new colors, new materials, anything that is different from what I normally work with. In walks through the door, flat colors. Been wanting to try them for some time now and finally getting it done. This is a detailed shot of a painting I just started. When these fresh pours dry they will be totally flat, no gloss or shine at all. Which will be interesting with other colors that I might add that do have gloss and shine! Stay tuned!
IN GOOD COMPANY
I have a birthday this month!!! Woohoo!! Last year at this time I was in Germany celebrating with family and friends there. This year I will be at the beach with family and friends. How lucky am I?? And besides the family and friends with me, there are a few of my favorite artists born this month…check it out, Google them: Frida Kahlo July 6th. Camille Pissarro July 10th. Amedeo Modigliani July 12th, Gustav Klimt July 14th. I’m in good company all the way around!!

Oh summer. How I love you. This photo of a gorgeous poppy was taken on a walk in my hood this month. Could not pass up the lighting and how wonderful this flower is. There was an entire glorious bush full of these flowers.Hope your summer is going wonderfully well and your walks are as joyful as this one was!
