WILL THE WHITE PAINTING BE DONE?
As I mentioned last month, this white painting has me exploring loads of different whites. I am painting like mad to get this one done for the big show-see below. However, I keep finding interesting materials & whites to explore! Will it get done? Come to the show and find out.
MIXING TABLE
Oh the mess you’ve made! It’s always interesting to see how crowded I can make the mixing table before I spill something. I feel like a mad scientist sometimes. Mixing this & that, unable to stop and clean up. But the pressure is on to finish these big paintings before the show. So many other actions, other than painting, go into a big show like this. In order to be prepped for hanging the show I need to stop painting in order to meet the photography deadline. Then marketing. Logistics. Extra bodies to haul paintings. Opening event planning. The list goes on….
SAVE THE DATE – APRIL 5TH
April 5th. This is big. So big I need a title. I haven’t decided on a title for the show yet. The working title is ‘Big Ass Paintings’. Probably not going to use that. Got any ideas? This is my opportunity to show all big work-the 5 footers, the 6 footers and a few other sizes but mostly large work. The show will be April 5th at the Murano Hotel in Tacoma, in one of their large event spaces. One of the walls is 40’ long! And party bonus-this show is a residency. I will be hanging in this space for one year! So excited-woohoo! It is a beautiful space and I can’t wait to show you. There will be live music, libations, eats and of course art! More details on timing to come but the date is set. Mark your calendar.
