April 2019

Painting away on the last half of the Percival Plaza project.  The studio has 15 canvas’ all in various states of completion. Progress!

I attended a great event this month, The Path of Sculptors.  A lecture of panelists at the Frye Art Museum who discussed the sculptors life and work.  Fascinating to learn the thought process, the work process and the challenge of an artist’s legacy.  Three panelists: Nancy Penrose who just wrote a book about an American woman who worked in Paris from 1925-1928, Angela Gregory.  Dr.LaVerne Hall, Executive Director of the Dr.James W Washington Jr and Mrs. Janie Rogella Washington Foundation. James Washington was a sculptor and painter in the Northwest.  And Mimi Miles who is a sculptor in West Seattle, working in ceramics. Loved her work! Love that the Frye has these wonderful events!

I’ve been invited to participate in the BIMA Bash again this year.  This is one of the big fundraisers for the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. I’ve donated a painting for the event and am looking forward to attending!

A milestone this month for my Dad-60 years in the USA!  We celebrated with family and good food. Cheers Dad!
